Careers in Agriculture: From Class 10 to Your Own Agri-Business

Careers in Agriculture

Class 10 to a job or your own business

• Agriculture is much more than farming: crop science, horticulture, food technology, dairy, fisheries, forestry, veterinary science, agri-business and drones.
• India has 74 agricultural universities and 113 ICAR research institutes. The main degree is the 4-year B.Sc (Hons) Agriculture, a professional degree.
• Girls now make up about half of all students in agricultural universities (49% in 2023, up from 23% in 2015, reported).
• Before you pay any college, check it is ICAR-accredited: degrees from non-accredited colleges cannot be used for ICAR's M.Sc and PhD entrance exams.
